BOSTON, MA-- After dropping the first two sets to Johnson & Wales (JWU), Pine Manor rallied for a third set victory before dropping a 3-1 decision on Saturday, October 22, 2011 during a Great northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match at the Jean Yawkey Center in Boston, MA. Pine Manor was then defeated 3-0 by host Emmanuel College in the final match of the day.
Pine Manor dropped a closely contested match to JWU, 3-1 (25-19, 25-21, 22-25, 25-14). JWU freshmen Alyssa Drapeau led all players with 19 kills while also totaling 16 set assists and adding two digs. Pine Manor Freshmen Destiny Mann (Orlando, FL) and Senior Jen Gross led the way for Pine Manor with eight kills each. Mann also had a team high eight digs while sophomore Megan Patch (Bethpage, TN) notched 24 set assists and had five digs
In the 3-0 setback to Emmanuel, Pine Manor was led by 7 kills and 7 digs from Mann, while Patch dished out 17 assists and recorded 7 digs.
Following Saturday's results, Pine Manor is now 14-6 overall and 4-6 in conference play. The Gators will next travel to Simmons College on Tuesday night, October 25 for a 7:00 p.m. match with the Shark
