With the Presidential election right around the corner, Pine Manor College is making the voting registration process easy for the students by collaborating with the Brookline League of Women Voters (LWV). The LWV will be coming to Pine Manor College on September 18th from 11:30 a.m. to 02:00 p.m. to help students register to vote ahead of the November elections. The push to ensure all eligible voters are registered receives support from the Dean of the College, William Vogele. In an interview Prof. Vogele said: "Politics is not something that “other people do” and should not be perceived as a matter that “doesn’t affect me”. Young adults and college students – especially Pine Manor College students – are profoundly affected by political choices. Whether these are the interest rates charged on student loans, the availability of government grants, or the ability to apply for deferred action for our “dreamers” – politics matters! That is why I want all of our students to be able to vote if they can. I encourage our students to take the opportunity and register to vote, and would like to remind them that they CAN vote, that they SHOULD vote, and that, here at Pine Manor, we are committed to get them ready to exercise their right to vote.
