Pine Manor College honored the 2016 presidential scholars on Monday, November 7th at a Presidential Scholarship reception.
At Pine Manor College we value academic excellence, determination, and leadership. This year the College awarded Presidential Scholarship to 28 of our incoming first-year students who demonstrated outstanding academic achievement.
At the dinner, President O’Reilly introduced members of the Pine Manor leadership team, staff, and faculty, to the presidential scholarship recipients.
The Dean of the College, Diane Mello-Goldner, Dean of the Student Affairs, Staci Weber and the Dean of Enrollment Admissions, Sam White, congratulated the scholars. They also expressed their hopes that as Pine Manor students these first-year scholars will continue their academic success and contribute to the Pine Manor community. Professor William Stargard encouraged the students to strive for excellence. He also introduced The Massachusetts Delta Chapter of Alpha Chi, a national college honor society. The chapter accepts only the top 10 percent of juniors, seniors, and graduate students in all academic fields and recognizes and promotes scholarship.
The Presidential Scholarship is awarded to new first-year students for outstanding academic achievement in earning a 3.0 (or higher) Grade Point Average upon their high school graduation. This scholarship will be renewed with continued equal achievement here at Pine Manor College.
