Applicants to our MFA in Creative Writing Program:

The winter 2021 residency, which begins our spring semester, is set for January 8 – January 17.

We accept applications on a rolling basis. Writers who submit general applications by November 8, 2020** may be offered a space in the winter 2021 residency/spring semester. Following that date, all acceptances will be for the summer 2021 residency/fall semester.

**Applicants who wish to be considered for genre-based fellowships or the Francis L. Toner Fellowship for Veterans should submit the general application form (check the box on page four of the form) by November 4, 2020. See our financial aid information for more details.

Those interested in receiving financial aid are advised to complete the FAFSA form in tandem with their MFA application. Students who hope to receive a PMC need-based grant should submit their application and the FAFSA as early as possible.

The summer 2021 residency, which begins our fall semester, is set for July 8 – July 18.

We accept applications on a rolling basis. Writers who submit general applications by May 17, 2021** may be offered a space in the summer 2021 residency/fall semester. Following that date, all acceptances will be for the winter 2022 residency/spring semester.

**Applicants who wish to be considered for the Monica Hand Fellowship for Nontraditional Students or Kurt Brown Fellowship for Diverse Voices should submit the general application form (check the box on page four of the form) by May 3, 2021. Please note that the Kurt Brown Fellowship application requires a short essay. See our financial aid information for more details.

Post-Graduate Programs

Writers with an MFA degree who wish to complete a one-year CERTIFICATE in a genre other than their MFA’s concentration and who hope to begin winter/spring 2021 will need to apply to the program by Monday, December 14, 2020; for a summer/fall 2021 start: apply by Monday, May 17, 2021. Writers with an MFA degree wishing to undertake a POST-GRADUATE SEMESTER (no on-campus residency) to hone or complete a manuscript this winter/spring 2021 will need to apply to the program by Monday, December 14, 2020; for a summer/fall 2020 start, Monday, June 7, 2021.
