In line with the Pine Manor College mission and the spirit of the 2020 agreement between Boston College and Pine Manor College, the Pine Manor Institute for Student Success will expand and accelerate the effort to recruit, retain, and graduate traditionally underserved and underrepresented students.

The Institute’s endowment, which has doubled to $100 million since its inception in 2020, will fund the establishment of a college-prep program, which will provide middle and high school students with ten years of surround support and a residential summer enrichment program which will be hosted on the BC campus beginning the summer of 2022. Additionally, the Pine Manor Institute for Student Success has been established as an umbrella organization for Boston College’s existing academic support initiatives, including Options Through Education, Learning to Learn, and the Montserrat Coalition, as well as BC’s extensive student volunteer efforts.

Beyond expectations, Boston College has also announced the launching of a two-year residential college called Messina College, which will offer associate degree programs beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year. Messina College will serve 100 students annually and be located on the historic Pine Manor College campus, creating yet another avenue for student success.
