Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to drop off my child at 7:30 a.m.?
No. The drop off time is between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

Do you follow a schedule?
Yes, please see the Daily Schedule.

Do you take fieldtrips?
Yes. We typically take one fieldtrip in the fall and one in the spring. We have been apple picking, visited the zoo, went to the Boston Nature Center, and N.E. Aquarium came to our school for a tidal pool presentation to go along with our sea life theme.

What are the teacher’s qualifications?
Please see the Meet the Staff page.

How do you deal with children who have allergies?
The CSC is a nut-free environment. If a child requires an Epi-pen or Benadryl for a known allergy, the parent must indicate this on the enrollment form upon admission and supply those items to the CSC on or before the first day the child attends.

Do you celebrate the children’s birthdays?
Yes. If parents wish to donate a special snack, we will serve it at snack time and sing Happy Birthday.

What do I need to bring on the first day of school?
An extra set of clothes, diapers and wipes, pull-ups, extra underwear, appropriate outdoor clothing, a lunch if staying past noon, a crib sheet for the mat and a pillow and blanket if your child is staying for rest time.

Do I need to pack a snack for my child?
We have a volunteer snack sign up sheet. Families typically donate a snack for all children in both classrooms approximately once every other month. The CSC provides juice, water, and always has crackers. Parents often supplement with fresh fruit, cheese sticks, applesauce, yogurt. We maintain a nut-free environment and ask that everyone check all ingredients to make sure the product does not contain nuts or have been processed in factory that may contain nuts.
