Chestnut Hill, MA, January 15, 2014 – Pine Manor College today announced the appointment of Alan Russell, CPA, to the position of Vice President of Finance.In this capacity, Mr. Russell will oversee the financial growth and well-being of the college as it continues to develop as a co-ed institution with increasing enrollment and a larger pool of applicants than ever before.

“I’m proud to welcome Alan to the Pine Manor family,” said the college’s President, Joe Lee, in a statement. “With his track record in financial management, he will be a great source of guidance as we increase our enrollment and endowment in the coming years.”

Mr. Russell brings extensive experience in a financial leadership role from both higher education and corporate settings. Most recently he served as the Interim Vice President for Administration and Finance at Warren Wilson College in North Carolina. Other higher education experience includes positions at Cambridge College, Wesley College and Landmark College. His corporate experience includes financial supervisory positions in firms as varied as Merrill Corporation, Mintz Levin, and Grant Thornton.

“Pine Manor has a very bright future, and there are some truly exciting opportunities ahead,” said Russell. “Making the most of these opportunities will be both challenging and rewarding. I am grateful to Dr. Lee for entrusting me with this responsibility as part of the college’s management team. I can’t wait to join the Pine Manor community and get to work next week.”

Mr. Russell has received an M.B.A. from Columbia University and a B.S. degree from Babson College. He will begin at Pine Manor on Tuesday, January 20.
