[Chestnut Hill, MA April 13, 2018] In response to the growing inquiries by Mount Ida College students and their families, Pine Manor College is running a shuttle bus from Mount Ida to the PMC campus in Chestnut Hill, so students can see the campus and attend information sessions that provide concrete and immediate solutions to make transferring easy. Pine Manor is offering Mount Ida College students on-the-spot admission and a path to complete their BA degree on time. Pine Manor College is a small and supportive community about 3.5 miles from the Mount Ida campus, and right on the T [Chestnut Hill Station]. The College will assist transfer students and newly admitted Fall 2018 students through the admissions and financial aid processes.
Eight of Pine Manor College’s academic programs are closely aligned with Mt. Ida’s majors, with additional options for degree completion through the “Design Your Own Major” program.
“We are pleased to welcome Mount Ida students onto our beautiful Chestnut Hill campus,” says Sam White, Dean of Admissions. “These students have been through so much this past week; as a neighboring college committed to student success, we are offering a helping hand.” Pine Manor College will meet or exceed Mount Ida’s financial aid packages and include a $2,000 one-time grant. “We believe that many Mount Ida College students will find that the Pine Manor College community is a perfect fit for them.” Dean White adds, “Pine Manor College already admits students on a rolling admissions basis, which provides great flexibility to the Mount Ida students as they embark upon this unexpected transition. Mount Ida students will also enjoy housing selection so they can live with their Mount Ida friends on campus, if they choose. We will be with them every step of the way from application to graduation.”
In welcoming the Mount Ida College students, Pine Manor College President, Thomas O’Reilly said, “Through the Initiative for Student Success, each student is assigned an Academic Advisor and a Student Success Coach that supports them throughout their career in the college and through graduation. Mount Ida transfer students will receive the same quality support that resulted in 100% of our graduates launching their careers; advancing their education or securing employment in the last two years.” Pine Manor College’s President has been at the College for nearly two years and has been credited with building a strong, sustainable financial model that generated operating surpluses in each of the last two fiscal years.
