Boston Public Schools (BPS) and Pine Manor College will host the first Young Women's Conference on Saturday, May 8. The one-day conference is devoted to addressing issues that plague today's young teens. The topics to be discussed were chosen by a group of eighth grade girls and will cover teen pregnancy, peer pressure and gender equity. Information will also be given on where to find and how to use the resources available to young women.
The day will include workshops, self-esteem building exercises and speakers sharing their real-life experiences. Information about Safe & Drug Free Programs, Teen Pregnancy and HIV awareness will be reinforced throughout the day. Funding for this event has been provided by the Schott Foundation.
